Tips for arming and disarming your home’s security

Before you get into all the amazing things your Vivint Smart Hub can do, you’ll need to know how to arm and disarm your security. It’s easy - just follow these instructions:

  • Tap the shield icon on the home screen and slide to the right for “Away” and left for “Stay.”
  • Stay signifies you will still be present in your house and arms all sensors except interior doors and motion sensors.
  • Away means you will be away, and each sensor in your home will arm.
  • To disarm, simply slide the shield icon down and type in your PIN.

The Smart Hub will display a warning if something is preventing the system from arming. To illustrate, an open window will urge you to take action. Keep in mind that you can still arm the system by using the above steps. You will then confirm you want to circumvent the sensor that isn’t engaged.
